             We are going to discuss that the Place of Solar Photovoltaic In Energy Supply In India. Before discussing on this topic first we will know about Solar Photovoltaic.

                A solar cell is a semiconductor (Semiconductor is a type of material whose conductivity lies between conductor as well as insulator ) that convert sun light in directly electricity without going any intermediate energy conversion steps.It is a fundamental block of solar photovoltaic  PV) technology. Many solar cell is connected series and parallel it is depends upon desire current & voltage and connected together to form a PV module. And also Several PV module connected together and make PV array in small power application as well as large power application like commercial power plant.

                 There is the large gap between demand and supply of electricity. India is 3rd largest producer and 3rd largest consumer of electricity . The National Electric Grid in India has been installed capacity 371.054 GW (June 2020) . This data is lies in 2013 installed he current power generation 223 GW (April 2013),In spite of a total installed power generation capacity of about 371.054 GW (as of June 2020), India is still struggling to meet increasing power demand.  Government of India came up with the Electricity Act in the year 2003 to reform the unorganized power sector in India. EA-2003 has helped to improve efficiency and has brought some much needed order in the overall power sector.  However, we are still facing severe power cuts and many regions in India are still lacking something as basic as an electricity connection. Recent structural reforms in the power sector will take some time for complete implementation. And also most the villages and remote areas still facing electricity problem In the short to medium term, supply-demand mismatch and limited ability of the financial systems to support subsidies are expected to push consumer tariffs upward.After over all that we will discuss on place of Photovoltaic in energy supply it is illustrate on the below section.

        

Solar Power In India :-

                We already Explained about that Indian Government Focused on alternative resources of energy. Government of India has launched the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). 2009-10 with the target of installing 20,000 MW (20 GW) of solar power which is further increased in 2014-15 with the target of 100,000 MW (100 GW) by 2022 .It will be provide incentives that promote solar thermal and solar PV system installation both Grid Connected & Off Grid System .The Below table represents solar power generation year wise which is increase year by year.Thus we can say Solar Photovoltaic Systems had played a vital role to energy sector in India.

                 In the above graph, you can see that the solar power generation seems to be increasing year by year.The generation of solar power is increased year by year. The world's fossil fuel reserves have become limited quantities of commodities, while the need for these resources is unlimited, clearly indicating a state of imbalance. This imbalance implies that the Earth (at the current rate) will keep our activities forever. Can not be sustained, at most it can last for a century or two with increasing consumption of fossil fuels.

         

                     Based on the above considerations, we can say that the time to come will be only of alternative energy and not of the conventional energy.Form the above pie graph we can see the total power supply through solar power to be increased in comparison of previous few years and it is lies on 5th rank to total power supply in India.
